In late September, members of the European Law Firm network met in Copenhagen, Denmark, for one of ELF’s three annual General Meetings. From 24 to 27 September, lawyers and representatives from member firms across Europe came together for a programme combining business discussions, knowledge exchange and informal networking.
The meeting covered a range of topics concerning the development of the network, including current ELF activities, membership matters and opportunities for closer cooperation between member firms. The General Meeting also provided an opportunity to follow up on ongoing projects and discuss new ideas for the coming months.

Artificial intelligence and regulatory developments were among the topics discussed during the meeting. Peter Trinskjær gave a presentation on AI and its relevance for the legal profession, while Lars Lindencrone from Danske Advokater spoke about the EU legal profession and current AML/KYC requirements.
Members also discussed several of ELF’s ongoing initiatives. The Telemedicine Legal Guide, which brings together information on the legal framework for telemedicine across participating European countries, is nearing completion. The Real Estate Committee also continued its work, with members discussing the next steps and future cooperation between the participating firms.

As always, the General Meeting was also a good opportunity to exchange experiences from different jurisdictions and discuss referrals and potential cross-border cooperation. Conversations during and outside the formal programme led to a number of ideas for further collaboration between members.
The social programme gave participants the chance to experience some of Copenhagen together. Members and guests shared meals throughout the meeting and took part in a bicycle tour of the city on Saturday morning. The programme also included the gala dinner at Cap Horn in Nyhavn, where participants continued their conversations in a more relaxed setting.
The Copenhagen General Meeting brought together members from across Europe for several days of productive discussions, new ideas and time together outside the meeting room. It was another opportunity for ELF members to strengthen existing relationships and build new connections within the network.
European Law Firm would like to thank all members, speakers and guests who took part in the Copenhagen General Meeting and contributed to another successful ELF gathering. We would also like to thank our Danish hosts Ulrik Lefevre and Peter Trinskjær from Lexsos Advokater for their great hospitality and for making everyone feel so welcome throughout the meeting.
